What are the festival hours?

Gates open at Noon on Thursday July 20th. Music starts Thursday at 4pm, Friday & Saturday at Noon, and runs until 6am each day. The festival concludes at noon on Sunday July 23rd.

Can I volunteer for the festival?

Our volunteer spots are currently full for 2017, but you can get on a waiting list by emailing volunteer@suboctavemusicfestival.com

Can I be a registered vendor for the festival?

Complete and submit our Vending form on our Get Involved page at www.suboctavemusicfestival.com

Where can I ask about an item I lost at the festival?

Email info@suboctavemusicfestival.com with a detailed description of what item(s) you have lost.

What kind of security can you expect?

Every car, and all contents within, entering the festival or GA parking areas will be subject to search. ALL CARS, BAGS, AND PERSONS ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH. You will need to empty your pockets and have all items examined. Security personnel will be on duty at all times, both inside & outside the event. All laws will be enforced. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone. Once inside, there will be event staff and security to help ensure your safety and security.

Will there be re-entry?

See above. You may not congregate or loiter in the parking sites during the festival. Vehicles parked in GA Parking MAY leave and return to the festival grounds during the festival. Vehicles located in Car Camping may NOT leave and return to the festival grounds during the festival.

What are all the ticket/wristband policies?

All ticket sales are final. No refunds and no exchanges. Your festival ticket will be scanned and wristband issued upon entering the festival grounds. Wristbands must be worn at all times inside the festival. Wristbands must be worn securely on your wrist so that it cannot be slipped on and off. Wristbands are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and non-replaceable. All pass-holders must pass through security and are subject to bag inspection. Prohibited items will be confiscated. The festival takes place rain or shine. There are absolutely no exceptions to this wristband policy.

What is your alcohol policy?

If you are twenty-one (21) or over, you can bring in a limited amount of alcohol for your personal consumption. You may bring: 2 cases of CANNED beer per person (no kegs), and/or one PLASTIC bottle of liquor (up to 1.75 liter) per person, and/or 1 BOX of wine per person. NO GLASS CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND. Outback Ranch is a working cattle ranch and shards of broken glass are a major risk to the animals on site. No glass containers will be allowed into the music venues. It is illegal to provide alcohol to anyone under twenty-one.

Will you be selling alcohol at the festival?

MAYBE. You may bring alcohol into any music venues and camping areas. NO GLASS

Can I buy tickets at the festival?

If the festival is not sold out, there will be a limited number day-of tickets available at the entry gates on the festival grounds. Camping availability is limited, and you are not guaranteed a camping spot by purchasing a day-of ticket.

Do I have to pay extra for parking and/or camping?

GA Parking & Camping is included with your ticket fee. Car Camping passes are limited and sold separately for $35.

Are there single day tickets available for purchase?

No. All tickets are general admission, and include camping, parking, and access to all music venues and activities, July 20th-22nd, 2017. Tickets will be available for Thurs-Sat or Fri & Sat only.

Will there be any ATM’s at the festival?

NO, there will not be ATM’s on the festival grounds.

Will there be showers?

Maybe. Keep checking our Facebook page for updates.

Where can I access water?

There will be drinking water stations available throughout the festival grounds. Please bring a reusable container to fill up.

What happens if it rains?

SubOctave Music & Camping Festival is a rain or shine event.

Where is the nearest store/super market?

The town of Houston has a limited number of options for needed items. The closest large supermarkets are in La Crosse, WI

Will tickets sell out?

Probably. Buy advance, guaranteed to dance.

Are pets allowed in the campsite?

Sorry, No pets allowed anywhere at SubOctave Music Festival

Can I bring water bottles into the festival?

Please do! We’d rather you bring a reusable water container (for water fill-up) or an empty Camelback or similar brand. For your convenience, there are drinking water stations within the festival grounds.

What time do the gates open for SubOctave?

Festival Gates will open at NOON on Thursday July 20th.

Will there be a first aid area or EMT’s on duty?

We will have first aid, and EMT on duty, located at the festival office.

  • NO Large Sound Systems and/or Amplifiers
  • NO Unauthorized vending or solicitation
  • Each person is permitted two (2) cases of beer (no glass) AND one (1) plastic bottle of alcohol (no glass) upon entry into the festival grounds.

What are the hours of the festival?

Gates open at 10am on Friday July 22nd. Music starts Friday & Saturday at Noon and runs until 6am. The festival concludes at noon on Sunday July 24th.

Is there VIP camping at SubOctave?

No. Camping at SubOctave 2016 will be a combination of Car Camping & General Admission.

So if I don’t get a car pass, where can I park?

Overnight parking areas are available within 1/2 mile of the festival grounds. You will then hike into the festival grounds to find your groups car campsite, or single GA campsite.

Can I showcase my art installation, or live art at the festival?

Sorry, but our lineup is fully booked for 2017.

Will there be parking on, or near, the festival grounds?

Yes. There will be a limited number of car camping passes available at no cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additional parking will be nearby (within a half-mile of the festival grounds). You may walk to & from the parking sites as often as you wish, put there will be NO IN&OUT privileges once you leave the parking lot.

What ages are allowed at the festival?

SubOctave is an 18+ event.

Are RVs, campers, pop-ups, or trailers allowed in the camping areas?

No. Both for safety reasons, and due to the intimate size of the festival; nothing larger then a car, van, or truck is allowed on the festival grounds.

I want to help promote the festival, can I join your street team?

Our street team roster is full for 2017.

How do I apply to play music at the festival?

Sorry, but our lineup is fully booked for 2017.

Can I be a performance or flow artist at the festival?

Sorry, but our lineup is fully booked for 2017.

Is there Car Camping at the festival?

Camping at SubOctave is a combination of Car Camping (limited) & General Admission Walk-In Camping.

Can I bring my vehicle in & out of the festival grounds?

Is camping & parking included with a GA ticket purchase?

Yes!  Parking and walk-in camping is included with a ticket.
